Sandwich #264–“Deadlines and Day Trips” Egg Frittata Sandwiches
When you are headed out of town, and you’re hungry, and you get a call from work which requires you to file on deadline before you leave, and you’re getting screamed at by your fiancĂ© to “hurry up”, the only thing suitable enough for this special type of road trip lunch is a frittata sandwich.
Forbidden Sandwich #8—Open-Faced Egg Sandwich with Zucchini, Tomatoes and Avocado Mash
When you are running late for your out of town excursion and you will not be satisfied with a bag of Funyuns or a hot dog from the Gulf station on exit 73 again, you need to make a quick snack before you hit the road.
Honeymoon Wanderlust
I didn’t cook this morning because E and I spent two hours talking about our honeymoon.
Throwback Thursday
I’m throwing it back to last weekend to sound off on the worst sandwich I’ve ever paid money for.
Throwback Thursday
Me, about 4 years old, somewhere near Crater Lake, Oregon. Mom still made my sandwiches for me here. She probably packed a few for the hike we were on that day. I thought about mom packing a sandwich for me as I got my own lunch together for today—veggies and cream cheese on a bagel. […]
Sandwiches in Memory
Last night, I got to thinking about my dad a lot. I miss him. Then I found this.
Happy Fourth of July!
300 Sandwiches is taking a day to eat someone else’s cooking for a change. We’re enjoying fireworks, bands, swimming and dogs in Bucks County, PA for the day! Tomorrow, we’ll be in the Hamptons for our Sandwar event with Sandwich King Jeff Mauro! Happy birthday, America!
Did You Know?
That in Thailand, sandwiches are a symbol for democracy during their recent military coup? http://bigstory.ap.org/article/thai-anti-coup-protesters-say-it-sandwiches http://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-trending-27833824
How He Proposed, and Why I Was Unprepared
I wrote about how the proposal happened in The New York Post today. There were so many things I remember about that special day, but there’s one thing I have to discuss.
SURPRISE!
I was so wrong about E in an earlier post: he is FULL of surprises. The day after I arrived in Barbados, E had a big shocker for me: he asked me to marry him. I was working on sandwich #257. I guess neither one of us could wait until #300. I said yes, by […]
Sandwich #257–The “Fishkiller” Fish Cutter
My father’s nickname on Facebook is “fishkiller.” It’s a name, as well as a way of life.
The Official Sandwich of Barbados
This here is lunch—a piping hot fish cutter sandwich, the official sandwich of Barbados.
Reunited and It Feels So Good….
I”m finally reunited with E, aka, Mr. 300 Sandwiches, in Barbados!
Woman Vs. Sandwich at La Sandwicherie
I go to Miami around twice a year to see friends. Each time I go, they always rave about how I need to go to “the sandwich place.”
Things I Learned at SOBE Wine and Food Festival
Annnnd I’m back! I returned from South Beach Wine and Food Festival with a full belly and a little color on my face. I totally get why people live down south—I became inexplicably happy once the Miami sun hit my skin from an opened sunroof.
Cooking Class: 300 Sandwiches’ Maple Syrup Candied Bacon
When one spends the weekend in Vermont, one returns with maple syrup.
Ski Weekend PB & J Idea
Saw this on Pinterest, and want to replace the jam with our homemade apple cognac butter. Will be awesome for E and I’s snowboarding trip to Lake Placid this weekend!
Gone Fishing (For Sandwiches. Maybe.)
There may not be a sandwich today, unless I order it from room service. E and I are traveling (West Palm Beach, Fla.) for a wedding this weekend (no, not OUR wedding. I’m sure some of you were a bit hopeful there. Sorry!) Sun, sand and nuptials await. I’ll be back next week with some […]
Forbidden Sandwich #3–Fried Zucchini and Sliced Tomato on Pretzel Roll
We still had zucchini left over from Marie’s garden. But we did not have much zucchini bread left—we gave most of one loaf to Marie. The other loaf and a half…. I, um…well, I was hungry!
Five things I loved about vacation
And then I’ll finally, truly, get back to reality. 1.) This photo above. The wedding in Sonoma was in a beautiful barn at Atwood Ranch. Congrats to Sara and Alex! 2.) There are about 100 food trucks in a one block radius in downtown Portland, serving up every type of cuisine you could possibly think […]
Oregon, Peach Cobbler, and E
This is not a sandwich. But it’s something just as special.
Sandwich #151–“Roughing It” Rotisserie Chicken and Greens
During the Oregon Trail portion of our trip, activities will include summer snowboarding (!) at Mt. Hood, kitesurfing in the Columbia River Gorge and more wine tasting.
Vacation Days
E and I are headed on an adventure we call our Sideways/Oregon Trail Vacation. We’re headed to San Francisco, Sonoma wine county and Oregon for a week, where our itinerary includes a wedding (E’s cousin), a Giants baseball game (with some college buddies), adventure sports (kitesurfing and summer snowboarding!) and taking in all the good […]
