I can’t wait to get home from shopping with my mom in law in Soho so I can come home and make the ultimate of leftovers sandwiches: the Thanksgiving Shooter Sandwich.

I freaked out a few years ago when a reader taught me to make this (and to that reader, I am forever grateful). I continue to freak out any time anyone asks me about my favorite Thanksgiving sandwich and I rattle off my love of this sandwich. I also freaked out in print when I wrote a story about the shooter sandwich for Yahoo Food.

It’s still amazing. It will always be the most fun sandwich to make and the best use of Thanksgiving sandwich leftovers I can think of. And, it can feed your entire family with one serving!

There are no rules with this sandwich, and a plethora of options. Your loaf of round bread, your leftovers, your sandwich. And, food to last through an afternoon’s worth of football games.

Now, excuse me while I raid the refrigerator.
