We have less than two weeks until Thanksgiving. Time to start planning out dinner.

FAIL: I accidentally put the wrong date on our Thanksgiving dinner invitations. I had people saying they couldn’t come for dinner yesterday, when I meant to invite them over in two weeks. SUCCESS: Ordered our turkey from this place already! Gobble gobble!
OMG, it’s National Sandwich Day!
I’ve eaten so many fried fish sandwiches in the past month, I may have to switch to salads for the rest of the summer.
I spent the weekend with my parents, particular my mother, in the Midwest for Mother’s Day.
Happy Australia Day to all of our friends from down under!

I am so excited to reveal the winners of our Ziploc Thanksgiving Leftovers Sandwich Giveaway!
Our Fourth of July—also known as my birthday—was country fabulous.
Ice cream sandwiches are not a Breakfast of Champions. They’re filled with sugar and offer little caffeine or protein or other nutrients (maybe dairy. But that’s really all). They’re so not the ideal breakfast for a boyfriend who just came back from CrossFit.

Rating: We were done with Thanksgiving. The turkey was gone, E’s mom went back home, and we were tired from all of the cooking and cleaning that went with our Thanksgiving feast. But before I cleaned the refrigerator of all of the leftovers, I wanted to use the last of the sweet potatoes, stuffing and […]
Rating: Thanksgiving was amazing. Our turkey–brined two days in advance–turned out juicy and tender. Our sides–sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, asparagus, stuffing and a beautiful salad with butternut squash, bacon, pecans and roasted onion–were gobbled up quickly. And we had tons of booze, desserts and great company. Including E’s mom.
A day before Thanksgiving, and we’re in good shape. Turkey: arrived yesterday (thank you, Fresh Direct!). Decor: set. Booze: guests are bringing bottles of wine and Champagne. E was off this morning for the last trip to the greenmarket for fresh asparagus, greens, herbs and potatoes. That should be all for the food shopping.
