I’m still catching my breath from a whirlwind week that included “GMA”, “Dr. Oz” and a book party. Now I’m focused on the weekend. And what sandwiches to eat during the weekend.
E and I are going out East for the opening weekend of Hamptons season. Blue skies and beaches await. So do grills. Grills are made for meat and burgers and fillets. Those things fit quite nicely on sandwiches.
Below, 4 great Memorial Day sandwich ideas to keep your grill warm.
—Sandwich #9, the “Home Early” Lamb Burger, is a favorite. A Mediterranean-style burger stuffed with feta cheese. Top with a quick cucumber dill sauce instead of ketchup for zingy flavor.
—Sandwich #49, The Roof is on Fire” Burger with Egg is great for you weekend warriors who plan to go to CrossFit, bike 30 miles and play soccer in the park. And that’s just your Saturday plan.
—Sandwich #136, the “Thanks for Thinking of Me” Italian Burger with Pesto” is topped with Mozzarella and homemade pesto.
–Want a veggie option? Sandwich #266, the “Family Visits” Black Bean Burger, will satisfy. It’s inspired by The Pioneer Woman’s recipe. Delicious topped with cheese and a bit of tomato relish.
