Last week, I said good-bye to the other man in my life. My father.
My father was the best dad anyone could ask for, and his passing was devastating to me.
Dad loved life, loved people, and always had a smile or laugh to spare. He was not one to wallow in self-pity, or complain about lacking anything, whether it money, time, or perfect conditions on the lake. He just moved forward, and enjoyed the circumstances on hand with laughter and a smile.
Despite his loss, and my sadness, he would, when I’m ready, want me to ‘keep making those sandwiches.’
And so, after a brief mourning period, I will.
I love you, Dad.
