Easter is this weekend. Got me thinking about my holidays of yore. It was usually the end of Spring Break, so I wasn’t too happy about that.

But like Valentine’s Day and Halloween, it was yet another holiday that included candy. I was a fan.

My mom and I took Easter eggs decorating seriously. She was quite a good artist, so we used to not only dye the eggs different colors with our Paas decorating kits, we used to draw animated faces on ours, and give them names. Betty. Simon. Rerun (named after Fred Berry’s character in “What’s Happening!!“. Google it, children of the 90s).

Eggs got me thinking about egg sandwiches. I’m craving deviled eggs, so I’ll probably make some version of deviled egg salad sandwiches on Sunday.
