2015 is coming to a close tonight. Boy, what a ride it’s been.
E and I got married. I published a book about this whole 300 sandwiches experience, revealing more about myself than I ever thought I would. We traveled the world. We met new friends. We saw old friends grow and enter new phases of life. We got new jobs.
We learned to make sushi. I made Patti LaBelle sing with a homemade sweet potato pie.
We stayed healthy. We smiled. We laughed. We loved.
It was literally the best year of my life. It was so good, I had to drop my mink!
But in 2016, there will be more.
There’s always more, right? There’s always something more you can be learning, doing, thinking, feeling, exploring, gathering information about. I want more.
I stil haven’t been to Casablanca. Or Istanbul. Or Mexico (I know, so close yet so far).
I still haven’t cooked my own Julia Child Boeuf Bourguignon. Or key lime pie.
I still haven’t had a child. I still want to take my mother to an all-day spa retreat in Hawaii as a small token of my appreciation for having taken care of me.
I still haven’t read this book. Or this book.
And I still want to write another book.
I’m excited for what 2016 will bring. I hope that you are, too.
Happy New Year to all of you.
Stay hungry.
