We’re a week away from Thanksgiving. And while I’ve given advice on how to plan your ideal holiday, I admit, I’m a little behind.
I still have to set a menu, by table decor and uh, clean my house to a sanitary enough state for my mother in law’s arrival next week!
But, my sandwich game is on point. For example: these easy pull-apart sandwiches. I’ve seen versions of pull-aparts 0n other sites, stuffed with lobster salad or crab salad (Martha Stewart does a delicious version of pull apart lobster rolls). But I wanted to get that same presentation for pulled turkey sandwiches. These fun sammies are great for groups or for game day, and are so easy to make.
A week left until Thanksgiving, E and I’s first as a married couple. Has anything changed? Nope. Except the menu, perhaps.
12 pull-apart dinner rolls
2 cups turkey, shredded
1/2 cup barbecue sauce (more or less depending on how wet you want the mixture)
1/4 cup chopped green onions
salt and pepper (optional)
Combine shredded turkey and barbecue sauce in a bowl. Set aside. Slice a slit along the top of the rolls. Stuff turkey mixture inside rolls, careful not to pull them apart. Toast in oven on 350 degrees for about 5 minutes, until rolls are toasted. Remove from oven, sprinkle on green onions, salt and pepper if desired, and serve with a side of barbecue sauce. Guests will pull apart as many as they like.
