July 4th is my favorite holiday. One, it’s my birthday!
Two: fireworks! BBQ! Day off of work! Pools! What’s not to love!
I got a head start on my July 4th planning last night with a few red white and blue cocktails— blackberry and strawberry mojitos. I made these for E and I last night so we could wind down the weekend with the comfort of rum and fruit. These only took five minutes and taste like candy, and are the perfect beverage to wash down lobster rolls or burgers.
4 strawberries, sliced
2 tablespoons simple syrup
juice of 1 lime
2 shots white rum
1 cup (approximately) seltzer
sprig of mint
In a large shaker, muddle blackberries and strawberries with simple syrup and lime juice. Add white rum, and soda water. Shake well. Pour over more ice into tumblers. Serves two.
