Old School

My favorite shirt, from my mother’s closet, circa 1975. This was the local hoagie joint in my mom’s New Jersey suburb, back before Blimpie’s and Subway moved in. This shirt has accompanied bell bottoms, skinny jeans, Levi cutoff shorts, pajama pants and running shorts over the years. Note the thin fabric from decades of wear.

Friday morning! E and I got up early to sip coffee on our patio, and ponder what nice things we were going to do for our mommies for Mother’s Day Sunday. I sent a card. E did not. Who’s the better child? Ha! (Just kidding, he means well. Besides, I should really send flowers, too.)

Homegrown Meats

This right here is homemade duck pastrami halfway through the cooking process. Those spices, that delish brown color….makes me hungry! Sadly we can’t eat it now.
